This is is my second blog post, the first being over a year ago.

The following was my first ever newsletter, which was sent to 119 unsuspecting family, friends, supporters, clients, prospects, & more on April 3, 2023.

I have had two newsletters since, which I will also be posting, and I plan to write more here about my perspective on small business knowledge management. Stay tuned! For now, here is MC speaking to you from 4 months in the past, or more if you're reading this later. Thanks for your time and attention. - MC on June 20th, 2023.

Hi there! Flashback to Black Friday when the only thing I purchased was this email marketing product (flodesk, which I love) with the intention of sending a monthly newsletter starting in January 2023. Now I finally did it!

First of all, thank you for being one of my OG subscribers!

My hope is that this newsletter will serve as a source of inspiration, education, and connection. A space that is full of the good stuff—articles, blog posts, resources, the latest happenings in my corner of the universe and so much more.

My work is all about making things like onboarding, servicing, + processing easier for independent insurance agencies so they can focus on developing their team and growing their book of business intentionally. Auditing an agency's operations and documenting them in an accessible + enjoyable way is a tall task, but that's what I love to do! I want my clients to feel confident about leading their agency like a coach and I want them to feel good about what's getting done in their daily operations…and what isn't.

I want this to be an email that you truly look forward to reading when it pops into your inbox, whether you are in the insurance industry or not. If it's not for you, please feel free to 'unsubscribe' at any time. No hard feelings! I know the rush of saying 'no thank you' (aka Unsubscribing) to someone who barges into my inbox to tell me something that just doesn't do it for me. Our attention is a valuable and I appreciate yours.

Respond to this email and let me know what you're curious about learning. Cheers!

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves. MCJ Partners is the consulting company we co-founded in 2020 to use our unique individual talents + passions to make a living for our household and enjoy life as much as possible while doing it. It is a small but mighty partnership consisting of the two of us, working hard to help our clients think differently and work smarter.

With a variety of operational + financial expertise, we are proud to offer both independent + collaborative ongoing or project-based services to independent insurance agents and are carving out a niche for ourselves as a partner of choice for agents who want to grow mindfully. As this develops, we will share information in this newsletter.

For example, here goes our first announcement: we are excited to share that MC has openings for Operations Clinics for agents starting this summer! This is a game-changing focus for our firm as we continue supporting our current client base. There is limited availability for this season, so if you are interested you can request a discovery call below and of course, stay subscribed for more information about MCJ's Agency Operations Clinic.

Please forward this to anyone who would be interested and they can subscribe to the newsletter on our website. Thank you so much!

For memorializing, as we grow and evolve. This is where we started!

Wishing you all the best. Thank you!

Looking Back...

As we close out our first official year in business, we are grateful for the opportunities we had to help insurance agents pursue operational nirvana. It was a busy year at MCJ’s headquarters, aka our home in South Boston.

  • We developed monthly financial reporting tools

  • We simplified the process of managing commissions

  • We built a framework for an agency’s playbook

  • We coached and supported agents as they leveraged new technology

  • We implemented a commercial insurance proposal template

On a personal level, it has been exciting for us to explore working together as newlyweds. You can read more about what we do here, or more about our nuptials here.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our clients, friends, and family, who we call partners. Thank you to each and every one of you for making this such a successful year for MCJ!

As you firm up your plans for next year, please reach out to us to explore ways in which we can help your organization reach its goals. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you.

Best wishes for a healthy holiday season and stay tuned as more news unfolds in 2022!
